AI Ethics Policy
Last updated: January 24, 2025

Midus is built on the belief that artificial intelligence should augment human capability responsibly, transparently, and with respect for the rights of individuals and organizations. This AI Ethics Policy (“Policy”) sets out the principles we follow in designing, deploying, and operating Midus (the “Service”). It forms part of the trust framework we maintain with our customers, partners, and the public.

By using the Service, you acknowledge this Policy and agree that your use of AI features will align with its principles.

1. Transparency and Disclosure

• We disclose when AI systems are used to generate content, insights, or recommendations.

• AI-generated Output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or biased; it must be reviewed by humans before critical use.

• Where required by law, you must not misrepresent AI Output as human-authored.

2. Human Accountability

• AI is intended to support—not replace—human judgment.

• Customers remain responsible for how they and their Authorized Users apply AI Output in decision-making, communications, or other activities.

• Midus is not a substitute for professional advice (legal, medical, financial, etc.).

3. Fairness and Non-Discrimination

• We work to mitigate harmful bias in AI systems by using reputable model providers, monitoring performance, and applying safeguards.

• You may not use the Service to generate or disseminate discriminatory, exploitative, or harmful content.

4. Privacy and Data Stewardship

• Customer Content is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum (DPA).

• We do not use Customer Content or Output to train or improve third-party foundation models unless you explicitly opt in.

• We apply strong safeguards—encryption, access controls, and regular reviews—to protect sensitive data.

5. Safety and Responsible Use

• You may not use AI features to create misinformation on civic processes, health, or safety.

• The Service must not be used for high-risk applications where errors could cause injury, death, or severe damage to people or the environment.

• Customers must implement appropriate review processes when relying on AI for material business outcomes.

6. Intellectual Property and Attribution

• Customers own their Customer Content and Output.

• You must respect the intellectual property rights of others and may not use AI features to generate infringing works.

• Output may reference external sources; where applicable, customers should ensure attribution or licensing compliance.

7. Continuous Oversight

• We regularly evaluate the Service for unintended outcomes, misuse risks, and evolving ethical considerations.

• We may update this Policy to reflect advances in AI technology, regulatory changes, and customer feedback.

• Customers are expected to keep informed of updates and ensure their use of the Service remains compliant.

8. Reporting Concerns

If you believe AI features in Midus have been misused, produced harmful results, or violated this Policy, please contact legal@heymidus.com. We will investigate and take appropriate action.

9. Enforcement

Violations of this Policy may result in removal of content, feature restrictions, or suspension of accounts, consistent with our Terms of Service.
